ABOUT US

We long for the covenant children in our churches to be shaped by worship and grow to become lifelong worshipers.

The Situation

According to a Barna Group study in 2019, nearly two-thirds of American 18- to 29-year-olds who grew up in church have withdrawn from involvement as an adult.

The same Barna Group study found that “belonging” and “‘connectedness” were seen as the driving factors for those identified as “resilient disciples.”

The good news is that the story of the Bible unites all the members of our churches from birth to grave, shaping the worship and prayer practices of our congregations.

Our Response

Building on what our parent organization, PCA Committee on Discipleship Ministries (CDM), has already done, Teach Us to Worship will help churches consider the biblical call to worship as a covenant family by equipping and encouraging elders, children’s ministry leaders, parents, and multi-generational congregations.

We want to support churches in this worthy endeavor by providing training and resources to help our covenant children grow to be lifelong worshipers.

Program Steps

01.

Evaluate

We will help churches identify strengths and weaknesses as they assess how children are incorporated in their worship services.

02.

Equip

We will provide onsite training for church leaders, staff, and families to equip them as they seek to enfold children in their worship service.

03.

Empower

We will continue to walk alongside churches as they implement strategies they have developed to unite children with the church body.
